The layer of sediment I spend the
majority of my time collecting fossils in is called the "Santa
Margarita Sandstone" layer in Central California. Dating around
10-12 million years. The fossils here are water worn from wave
and tide action leaving only the hardest bone and teeth to
fossilize. |
